Under the COP30 & Climate Action Agenda, the ENACT Partnership is hosting a Solutions Workshop to shape the next three years to accelerate and amplify biodiversity adaptation and resilience through risk-informed decision-making, inclusive governance, access to technology, and financial sustainability, achieved by integrating scientific knowledge, Indigenous knowledge, and community action.

Date: November 15
Time: 12:30 – 13:30 (GMT-3)
Location: Axis 2 Thematic Room, Blue Zone, UNFCCC COP30, Belém, Brazil
Background:
With COP30 as a pivotal moment for turning commitments into concrete action, this workshop will identify transformational shifts toward achieving 2030 climate, biodiversity, and desertification targets through nature-focused action. Consistent with the Global Stocktake (GST-1) guidance for accelerating adaptation implementation, this event will bring to life the Plan to Accelerate Solutions (PAS) for Biodiversity, Adaptation and Resilience proposed outputs through 2028. Through a consultative approach and facilitative dialogue, this workshop event will create a space for key change makers to assess the PAS, fine tune its outputs, and identify initiatives that can take on the challenge of implementation, responding to the COP30 Presidency’s call. At its core, the PAS aims to activate innovative finance, cutting-edge technology, people-driven and risk-informed policy, and governance strategies that can rapidly scale Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate, nature, and communities – all integrating robust safeguards to ensure that necessary climate actions, such as renewable energy deployment and land-use shifts, do not negatively impact vulnerable ecosystems, thereby supporting a nature-positive, water-resilient transition.
